Lake Powell 2010

Lake Powell 2010 was a great year. We had perfect weather and a perfect beach and no injuries. Plus we all had a few days where we were all there (except Jeanie) at the same time. There was a few disturbances from neighboring houseboats. But Darrell brought his new telescope and we had the treat of looking at Saturn and seeing her rings, and the moon. It was incredible. This is our first time having James back since his mission. Yeh, he is a favorite. He is sporting some sassy sunglasses!
John and Aimee provided some fun marshmallow fun. No one was hurt and the smell of smoke was minimal.

Carter learned how to cast a fishing line. He is rather proud of himself.

Mud War. Grandma and Darylyn vs. Leslie and Brinlie. I did get a few good shots.

There is oodles of shore line at Lake Powell so when a houseboat comes to close to another houseboat...we get a little annoyed. There kids were running around on our beach and tied up their boat on our ties, a big houseboat no-no. So Aaron stood guard with the squirt gun to send the message....stay back. This was not encouraged by his parents.

The men have a yearly Ironman Competition. Swimming, Holding of ones breath, casting a pole, and a new event this year, Ninja!

Katie and Matt entertained us till our belly's were sore from laughing at our family talent show. James dressed as a HS preppy girl from Argentina. It was a winner! The family talent show is always a favorite event.

Grandma has created a new award, 'The Best Kid at Lake Powell Award." Emma was the first recipient. Her trophy came in the mail shortly thereafter. She displays it on her dresser.

Brinlie and Grandma spent an afternoon quizzing each other from the Lake Powell map. One would name a location, the other would have to find it.

Little kids like to wake up early, even if they are not really awake yet. Most mornings they were all awake before the adults so in went a movie, till it was time for breakfast. Emily, Emma, and Jayden are still working on getting the sleeping dust out of their eyes.

This is a record, the only one missing is Jeanie, she was at girls camp. Made me sad. But there we are.

Here are the three cousins that will grow up and eventually reek havoc together. Jolie 9 mo, Fischer 4 mo, and Sarah 1 yr.

One of my favorite pictures. This was after the roasting of marshmallows. Not a planned photo. Grandma with Darylyn, Carter, Emma, and Brinlie.

Aaron, Dad, and Brinlie after sliding down at the back of the houseboat.

Till next time Lake Powell!
