Happy Halloween 2008

My kids wait all year long for Halloween, discussing what they are going to be, changing their minds every couple of weeks...But that is part of the fun of anticipation.

Aaron was a soldier. He wore his costume any chance he could before Halloween. At his Halloween Parade at school he walked with a gimp leg- he was wounded. Made me chuckle.

Brinlie was a beautiful purple witch. She refused to have a mole!!! Aunt Jeanie was also a purple witch, which was very special for Brinlie.

Carter was once again a Jedi. Enough said.

Darylyn was Snow White and wore ravishing red lipstick very happily.

Emma was a darling little black cat and meowed when we ask her to.

Scott was a ware wolf. Every year he borrows this costume from his friend so he can scare his seminary students. His zero hour class starts and 6:40 in the morning and it is dark. He scared a freshman boy horribly bad. He hid behind the building and as the boy was walking up the steps, he came out making ware wolf sounds whatever those are and the boy screamed like a girl and bolted for the seminary door. Then he also made two girls cry. Scott looks forward to this day with giddy anticipation. I think it is his way of being naughty and giving a little back to the dear students that give it to him.

Scott came home in the costume and the mask. This costume is very scary. The girls ran out to greet him, saw him - stopped - and ran into the house crying. Anytime they saw the hairy costume they cried.

We spent Halloween evening back in our old stomping grounds visiting all our old people friends from our previous ward. Then we went to our friends house and watched Hocus Pocus in their back yard, the movie projected on the back of their house. Oh, and ate heavenly caramel popcorn, my personal favorite part of the day!
