Our Halloween Day was a full one. It started with a Baptism, errands, BYU Football, and other preparations for the evening festivities. This year we went out of our comfort box and went slightly darkish. My girls were all ghost brides. What started with one white, silky, frilly dress for Darylyn ended up in three dead ghost brides. Brinlie found a small white silky nightgown looking thing at D.I. for $4.00 and bought it for her version of a ghost bride. For Emma we used one of her church dresses. We topped off the dresses with ratted hair, veils, makeup and white hair paint and bang, three costumes out of the way. It did not come without some tears though. While I was creating Darylyn as soon as she saw the ratty hair the tears came. Then while trying to apply the black around her eyes more tears appeared and we had to wait for them to dry up. Emma was reluctant but was quite the trooper as her brothers cheered her 0n. Carter changed his mind ten times no exaggeration. He ended up the YOUNG Indiana Jones. Aaron and his creative mind is Lord Ombra. He is a villainous character from a book Aaron and I have been reading. He has no body and steals people "shadows" or spirits. Our evening of fun started at our ward Halloween party, which was great but the kids were anxious to head down town and visit our favorite spots. All our old friends from our previous neighborhood. It is like a mini reunion as we see our loved ones. Below is Betty and her friend Gloria. They sit on Betty's porch really still and then when people approach they let out their old witched cackles! It is a treat every year to visit them. We may not get gobs of candy but we see old friends make them happy and remember how blessed we are to have wonderful people in our lives. The era of trick or treating is being replaced by trunk 0r treating. Don't even get me started on that.
